In gravure printing industry, many of our customers would ask us a question after receiving the goods, that is why the final delivery quantity is different from the quantity they ordered? Some people don’t understand that we are always required to have the final delivery quantity be the same as the order quantity. In fact, this requirement is very difficult in the flexible packaging industry. Why? Next we will answer it for you.
Before each production, we will appropriately prepare more raw materials for this production according to the characteristics of the materials. Generally speaking, we will prepare 10%-20% more raw materials. But even so, the quantity we ultimately produce may be less than the quantity ordered. This is because every step of our production requires a certain amount of raw materials to debug the machine, especially printing.
Unlike digital printing, gravure printing is technically more difficult. Digital printing only requires a computer to perform color matching. Gravure printing requires manual adjustment of the printing color during each printing. The ink is thin or thick, large or small, etc., which will affect the final printing effect. And because different production batches of ink may have different shades of color, this is a big challenge for our printing masters. So every time we print, we need to adjust each color little by little, deepen or lighten the ink little by little. The more colors we design, the more raw materials we will waste.
Of course, in addition to printing, other production steps will also cause material loss, but printing is the production link that produces the most material loss. We will inspect the products after each production step is completed. Once we find defective products, we will pick them out to prevent them from reaching customers. We cannot 100% guarantee that defective products will not be produced during the production, but we will ensure that defective products will not reach to our customers. Therefore, once defective products are accidentally produced during the production process, it means that the delivery quantity this time will be less than the order quantity.
In addition to the delivery quantity being less than the order quantity, sometimes the delivery quantity is more than the order quantity. As we mentioned at the beginning, we will prepare 10%-20% more raw materials for each production, so when we control the wastage of production well, the final delivery quantity will be more than the order quantity.
Therefore, it is normal and inevitable for the delivery quantity to be more or less than the order quantity. But we will definitely guarantee the quality of every batch of goods, quality is our life. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us.
